Creating a Social Media Post
Rheos lets you create, preview, and schedule social media posts for Instagram and LinkedIn. This guide walks you through creating your first post.
Before you begin: Connect at least one social account in Settings > Integrations. You can create posts before connecting, but you'll need an active connection to publish.
Starting a New Post
Navigate to Posts in the sidebar (labeled "Social")
Click New Post at the top of the page
You'll be taken to the post editor
Alternatively, create posts directly from Studio by selecting generations and clicking Create Post.
The Post Editor
The editor includes:
Caption field – Text content for your post
Media selector – Add images or videos from Library
Platform selection – Choose Instagram, LinkedIn, or both
Preview pane – See how your post will look on each platform
Project selector – Associate the post with a campaign
Action buttons – Save draft, schedule, or publish
Adding Media
To add images or videos to your post:
Click the media selector or add media button
Browse your Library
Select one or more assets (Instagram supports up to 10, LinkedIn varies)
Confirm to add to post
If you created the post from Studio generations, the images are pre-loaded.
Use assets from your Library rather than uploading during post creation. This keeps your Library organized and allows asset reuse.
Writing Your Caption
Enter your post text in the caption field:
Instagram supports up to 2,200 characters
LinkedIn supports longer form content
Include hashtags, @mentions, and emojis as needed
Line breaks are preserved when publishing
The caption applies to all selected platforms, though you can customize per platform if needed.
Selecting Platforms
Choose where to publish:
Check Instagram to include in your Instagram feed
Check LinkedIn to post to your LinkedIn profile
Select both to cross-post to multiple platforms
Preview updates to show how the post appears on each selected platform.
Platform Previews
Toggle between platform previews to check formatting:
Instagram preview – Shows feed appearance with aspect ratio, caption cutoff, and layout
LinkedIn preview – Shows how content appears in the LinkedIn feed
Use previews to ensure images are cropped well and captions display correctly on each platform.
Platform previews help you catch formatting issues before publishing, like captions that are too long or images that crop awkwardly.
Associating with Projects
Link your post to a campaign:
Find the project selector in the editor
Choose the relevant project/campaign
The post will be tagged for organization and tracking
This helps you track content output by campaign and filter posts later.
Saving as Draft
To save your post without scheduling:
Complete as much of the post as you want
Click Save Draft or similar button
The post is saved to your drafts list
Drafts appear in the All Posts tab with draft status. You can return to edit and schedule later.
Scheduling Your Post
To schedule for future publication:
Complete your post (media, caption, platforms)
Click Schedule or the scheduling button
Choose date and time for publication
Confirm to schedule
Scheduled posts appear in the Calendar view and All Posts list with scheduled status.
If you haven't connected a social account, you'll see an error: "Connect a social account first". Go to Settings > Integrations to connect before scheduling.
