Creating and Organizing Folders
Folders help you organize assets within your Library and projects. You can create folder hierarchies, move assets between folders, and maintain both global and project-specific organization.
Types of Folders
Rheos supports two folder contexts:
Global Library folders These exist at the organization level and are visible when browsing your Library without a project filter. Use them for cross-campaign assets like brand guidelines, logos, and reusable templates.
Project-specific folders These folders exist within individual projects and only appear when viewing that project. They help organize campaign-specific content.
Use global folders for assets that apply across multiple campaigns. Use project folders to organize content for a specific initiative.
Creating a Folder
To create a new folder in your Library:
Navigate to Library
If creating a project folder, filter by that project first
Look for the folder creation option in the toolbar
Enter a folder name
Confirm to create
The new folder appears in your Library view immediately.
Folder Structure
Folders support nesting (subfolders):
Create top-level folders for broad categories
Add subfolders for more specific organization
Nest as deep as needed for your workflow
Example structure:
Brand Assets/
├─ Logos/
├─ Color Palettes/
└─ Templates/
Spring Campaign/
├─ Product Photos/
├─ Customer Testimonials/
└─ Social Graphics/ Navigating Folders
Use breadcrumb navigation to move through your folder structure:
Click a folder to open it
View the breadcrumb path at the top
Click any breadcrumb segment to jump up the hierarchy
Use the back button or breadcrumbs to navigate
The Library shows both folders and assets at each level.
Folder and subfolder counts update automatically as you add content, helping you track organization depth.
Moving Assets to Folders
To organize assets into folders:
Single asset:
Right-click the asset
Choose Move to Folder from the context menu
Select the destination folder
Confirm the move
Multiple assets:
Select multiple assets using multiselect
Use the toolbar Move option
Choose the destination folder
All selected assets move together
Drag and drop:
Click and drag an asset
Hover over the target folder
Release to drop the asset into the folder
Special Folders
Some folders have special system types:
Saved Posts folder A system folder that stores post drafts saved as assets. This folder is created automatically.
System folders have special icons or labels to distinguish them from user-created folders.
Folder Metadata
Each folder tracks:
Item count – Number of assets directly in the folder
Subfolder count – Number of nested folders
Associated sessions – AI sessions linked to the folder
Project links – Which projects the folder belongs to
This metadata helps you understand folder contents at a glance.
Moving an asset to a folder doesn't remove its project associations. Assets can be in folders while still linked to multiple projects.
Deleting Folders
To delete a folder:
Select the folder
Choose Delete from the context menu
Confirm deletion
When you delete a folder, you'll typically be asked what to do with its contents (move to parent folder or delete with the folder).
Folder Organization Best Practices
Start broad – Create top-level categories before getting specific
Use clear names – "Product Photos" is better than "Images"
Don't over-nest – Too many levels makes browsing difficult
Combine with projects – Use project filters + folders for powerful organization
Regular cleanup – Archive or reorganize folders for completed campaigns
