Understanding Usage and Credits
Rheos uses a credit system for AI generation and other resource-intensive features. This guide explains how credits work and how to monitor your usage.
What Are Credits?
Credits are the currency for AI-powered features in Rheos:
AI image generation – Each image generated uses credits
Brand analysis – Automatic website analysis uses credits
AI-assisted features – Other AI tools may consume credits
Credits are allocated based on your subscription tier.
Credit Allocation by Tier
Different subscription plans include different credit amounts:
Free tier – Limited credits for testing and light usage
Pro tier – Higher monthly credit allowance
Business tier – Maximum credits for teams and high-volume use
Check your current tier and available credits in Settings > General or Settings > Billing.
Your tier is displayed in your profile section (e.g., "Pro Plan" or "Free Plan" badge).
Viewing Available Credits
To check your credit balance:
Navigate to Settings > Billing
View the credits section showing:
Available credits – Current balance
Total used – Credits consumed this period
Reset date – When credits refresh
Some dashboards may also show credit balance in the header or profile menu for quick reference.
Credit Usage Tracking
Credits are consumed when you:
Generate an AI image – Credits used at generation time (not when saving or liking)
Run brand analysis – One-time cost when adding a website URL
Use AI features – Other tools may have credit costs
Each generation session and asset tracks credits used in metadata.
Like and review generated images before generating more variations. This helps you use credits efficiently by only regenerating when truly needed.
Credit Costs
Different actions may cost different amounts:
Basic AI image generation – Standard cost per image
Higher resolution images – May cost more credits
Complex or multi-image generations – Variable cost
The exact credit cost is typically shown before you generate, so you can make informed decisions.
Credit Refresh
Credits typically refresh monthly based on your billing cycle:
On your renewal date, credits reset to your tier's monthly allowance
Unused credits do not roll over (unless your plan specifies otherwise)
You start fresh each billing period
Check your billing page for exact refresh dates.
Running Out of Credits
When credits are depleted:
AI generation features become unavailable
You may see prompts to upgrade your plan
You can still use non-AI features (Library, Posts, scheduling)
Credits refresh at your next billing cycle
If you consistently run out of credits before your refresh date, consider upgrading to a higher tier for more monthly credits.
Purchasing Additional Credits
Depending on your plan, you may be able to:
Purchase credit top-ups as needed
Upgrade to a higher tier for more monthly credits
Contact sales for custom enterprise credit packages
Check Settings > Billing for options to add credits or upgrade.
Optimizing Credit Usage
Write better prompts: Effective prompts reduce the need for many regenerations
Use context assets: Uploading reference images helps AI generate better results on the first try
Like before saving: Curate generations using likes (free) before saving to Library
Review before generating: Check your prompt and settings carefully before clicking generate
Reuse assets: Saved assets can be used in unlimited posts without additional credit cost
Upload existing brand assets to Library before using AI Studio. This improves generation quality and reduces wasted credits on off-brand results.
Credit Usage in Teams
For team accounts:
Credits are shared across the entire organization
All team members draw from the same credit pool
Admins can monitor total usage in billing settings
Consider higher tiers for teams with multiple active users
Monitoring Usage Patterns
Track credit usage to understand patterns:
Go to Settings > Billing
Review total credits used this period
Check generation session metadata for per-session costs
Identify high-use periods or features
This helps you budget credits across your billing cycle and plan upgrades if needed.
Credit Policy
Credits are non-refundable once consumed
Unused monthly credits typically do not roll over
Credit allocations may change with plan upgrades or downgrades
Enterprise plans may have custom credit policies
Review your subscription terms for specific credit policies.
